Mike Bullard–Toronto Maple Leaf Hockey Club: Official Centennial Publication

mike bullard“Any boy growing up in Ontario wants to play for the Toronto Maple Leafs or the Montreal Canadiens. Being from Ottawa, half of my family is for the Canadiens and the other half for Toronto. I’ll be honest, the day I signed with the Leafs and it went into the paper, I found out how many cousins I had! I mean, I had cousins that I never even thought were possible! Every time we were in Toronto a day before a game, our phone would ring off the hook. “I’m your cousin from so and so and so and so. You wouldn’t happen to have two tickets for the game, would you, because we can’t get them.” I swear to God, I think it cost me more in tickets than I made in salary! I only played there a year, but I had so much fun. It was just awesome.”
