Goalie Makes Miraculous Backhand Save

Sometimes, you don’t have the name of the league or player on which you see a video. Sometimes, there’s a marvel hockey play that doesn’t really need an introduction of who did it and on what date. This backhand save is one of those times.

The video below sees one team entering the offensive zone on an odd-man break and executing a clean, impressive passing play. Just when a goal was pretty much guaranteed, the goalie wagged his finger like Dikembe Mutombo.

It was an impeccable save that deserves recognition … too bad we don’t know who to commend.

The unknown goalie has been identified as Jeff Lerg, currently of the Toledo Walleye of the ECHL.
